Bette took this on her phone tonight at Smiths. She had lots of shopping to do and convinced dad he should ride in one of those happenin' motorized grocery carts. Shopping has never been so fun.
Eloise is my mom. She lives in an assisted living center.
There is not a lot happening in assisted living centers I have come to learn. She struggles with being lonely in addition to the burdens that come with aging. When she and Dad moved into this place in March 2007, she said she would only see the entry door one time...on her way in. This was her statement on how she was going to spend her time in this new environment.
For the first 18 months or so, she met her goal of islationism and self imposed quarantine. After Dad passed in March of 2009, she slowly began to venture out. This is a forum to share some of the stories that play out in her life on a daily basis.
